One of our favorite artists growing up was Ma$e. His Harlem World record was and still is a CLASSIC Hip-Hop album. Every time I hear a record off the album it sparks up nostalgia of Trey Peezy and me riding in the '86 Chevy Sprint with the Luxor rims and the modified 6x9's, courtesy of William Bunch ( Head of Straight Game Low Riders). Peezy called my whip the "Bird Box", cause I parked it under a tree one time and it got shitted on by seemingly every bird in Spring Valley. I didn't wash it for a week and the name, as well as the bird shit stuck. So every time I hear a track, it brings me back to a time when we'd ride around the city bumpin the album. "24 Hours to Live", "Feel So Good", "Tell Me", "Jealous Guy", etc. One of my favorite joints on there was "Lookin at Me", so when we were putting together the "Three-Headed Monster" Mixtape, we decided to have a little fun and do a cover of it. Alternative bands do it all the time e.g. Alien Ant Farm covered Michael Jackson's "Smooth Criminal", Michael Jackson covered the Beatles' song "Come Together", D' Angelo covered Smokey Robinson's "Cruisin". I could go on and on like a Badu song, but you get the point. They did it, why couldn't we? We could so we did and that shit came out DOPE! Shout out to the big homie Leef Barnes for doing the Intro (Puffy's part) of the song. It was clutch. Hopefully when you hear it, it brings you back to a time. And for you '90s babies, maybe it'll be new to you. However you take it, enjoy it!
Keys to the Suite album dropping soon, like bird shit on the "Bird Box"!
