Enjoying its 10th installment and in association with the 2011 Chinese Lunar New Year, Nike Sportswear celebrate the occasion with a Nike Air Force 1 Supreme. With the Year of the Rabbit theme, the legendary Air Force 1 incorporates Chinese sensibilities with a white, varsity royal and crimson colored upper. The design itself incorporates a special and innovative midsole with a material grain contrast between the different upper panels. The Year of the Rabbit Air Force 1 will first release in a limited edition packaging set for January 23, 2011. With it will come a suggested retail price of ¥2,599 RMB (approximately $393 USD). Less than a week later, a version with regular packaging will release for ¥1,999 RMB (approximately $302 USD) on January 28, 2011. Retailers will include the following for the China exclusive: Nike Beijing Store, Nike Sanlitun Store, Nike Beijing Oriental Plaza Store, Beijing Deal, Nike Shanghai Store, Shanghai Juice and Shanghai NPC.
For this upcoming season, Kobe Bryant and Nike Sportswear have aligned to create ah comprehensive footwear and apparel capsule. Leading the way for apparel is a special rendition of Nike’s Destroyer varsity jacket program. Created in a simple and effective black and white color scheme, the jacket includes various nods to Kobe Bryant’s personality and background. The one sleeve includes patches which form the word BATTLE while the chest and opposite sleeve feature further adornments. The back includes Kobe Bryant’s #24 in roman numerals. Look for the jacket at select retailers across the world.
As winter is alive and running, Nike showcases another one of their Destroyer Jacket with a new Athletics East product. The black and gold coated outerwear releases Saturday, December 18, 2010 at Head Porter Plus Japan.
I can dig these. Thoughts? I am hearing they are comfortable too.
For Holiday 2010 the Nike Sportswear Aina Chukka comes in two new solid colorways – mixing leather and suede on these bi-tonal versions of the mid top sneaker actually worked out nicely. Both are arriving at Kasina this month.
The Jordan Prime 5 adds elements of the Jordan V to the Air Jordan 1 Alpha, resulting in an interesting new silhouette. For Spring 2011 the sneaker comes in a clean varsity red colorway with metallic silver accents. Look out for a release January 2011.
The Nike Dunk, a staple go-to sneaker for anyone into footwear. With the addition of the Nike SB line, they’ve taken over skateboarding with a swift hand and will continue to do so for quite sometime. Since they haven’t done much updating to the sneakers, it looks like they felt it was time. Kicking things off in 2011, Nike SB is gearing up to release an updated version of the Dunk to create a better skating experience for it’s owner.
Since this is the first time that Supreme gets to design their very own sneaker silhouette with Nike SB, the approach and process for the project was very different.
Nike’s Air Force 1 Low line adds another colorway for the classics. The midnight fog/white colorway and nubuck 3M uppers, with white accenting on the soles. These kicks just hit the stores at selected Nike accounts.
Furthering Nike Sportswear’s 2010 Holiday collection is this pair of Terminators. The winterised boots have been decorated with silver eyes and include D-rings at the top, completing a hiker aesthetic. Each version features a white sole with brown trim and both feature durable leather panels suitable for winter wear. Now available at Kix-files in either tonal grey or black colorways.
Nike SB gives us a peek into the latest addition to its footwear lineup as they officially present the Zoom FP, a performance-geared silhouette that compliments the brand’s focus on functional designs. This premier colorway takes on a simple black/white/red color scheme, with the attention mostly based on the sneaker’s aesthetic, fusing several models of the past. Key details include a slip-on design with lace detail, heel wrap-around for support, and super lightweight upper, along with Nike’s trademark Zoom Air cushioning system. Retail for the Zoom FP is set at $104 USD. Stay tuned for a look into further colorways soon.
Nike introduces a new colorway for the Fall 2010 season in its beloved Air Max 95. Pairing the sneaker’s usual gradient motif, the kicks sport a cool array of grey hues with black and white accents atop clear outsoles. Clean and simple, these are arguably one of the nicer new colorways we’ve seen on the Air Max 95 this year. Available now via select Nike dealers, including Nice Kicks.
Ever wondered what happened the Nike Air Mag sported by Marty McFly in Back to the Future II? Ever wanted to own the very pair worn by Michael J. Fox on set? Well here’s your chance. At least equalling the rarest shoes of all time and certainly one of the most pined after, fans are now able to bid on the legendary sneaker in the hopes of owning the pair. Frankly the 1989-made grail looks a little tired and shows some series cracking on the midsole, though this hasn’t prevent the estimated value of the sneakers reaching a staggering $12000 – $15000. Head over to Profiles in History now, for more information and to place your bid!
“Supreme’s design language speaks to (and about) New York. It’s an early ’90s theme, a series of skate influences that reminds O.G.s of the “good old days” and builds a mythology for those too young to have been there. The lines Supreme’s design team uses, while rooted in that rearview vision, are modernized in a way that takes the product beyond nostalgia, and they have helped the brand build a streetwear category uniquely its own. This holiday, it works with Nike SB on an original silhouette, specific to Supreme.
“Our main thought was to create a newer version of shoes that New York skaters would have appropriated before there were real skate shoes, and combine that with other iconic basketball shoes from the time,” says Luke Meier, the lead designer on all Supreme SB collaborations. Foamposite material on the heel sets this shoe apart, and lines that pay homage to the classic Jordans give the silhouette a timeless feel, but the final result is anything but derivative. The new Supreme shoe is truly a city skate shoe: slimmed-up and clean enough to look presentable, but poppy enough to rock in the street. Welcome back to NYC.”
The sneaker will be released early November 2010 in overall 4 colorways. The Supreme logo appears on the heel and the tongue. A great shoe with a nice classic appeal. They also added the star pattern to the sneaker and the hang tag, a classic from the New York brand.
Can someone please get me these, I BEG! At least for Christmas!
Here’s a crisp new colorway in Nike’s always classic Air Force 1. Sporting a mostly white base, the kicks are accented nicely with dark cinder highlights and a perforated swoosh. Leather uppers are in full force with gum bottoms adding just enough contrast. Retail is set at $88 USD, with a release scheduled for October 2010. Source: Nice Kicks
